Obedience and Manners Classes
Tired of your dog not coming when called the first time you ask? Annoyed by a dog who drags you for a walk or doesn’t seem to notice when you’re talking to him? If your dog’s behavior has got you a bit frustrated or embarrassed, or if you just want a little more polite behavior, it might be time for an Obedience Class.
Living with an engaged and responsive dog is one of life’s greatest pleasures! At Lucky Dog Training Club we have two levels of Obedience (outlined below) to help you on your journey to enjoying a calmer and better-behaved dog.
Why Enroll in an Obedience Class?
We want to help make life with your dog easier by allowing you to enjoy a calm and well-behaved companion. Teaching your dog to understand your obedience commands is important, but it’s the relationship-building that really counts. When you build communication skills and a better relationship with your dog, better manners and obedience will easily follow.
We will train or improve basic obedience skills and improve manners. We will work on attention, impulse control, and the ability to work around distractions. We will help you build better motivation and confidence and discuss how to solve some pesky behavior problems.

Obedience Class Levels
Train your dog for a lifetime of obedience! Our basic obedience class concentrates on the foundation for all future training and is perfect for improving the behavior of your dog and teaching you how to work as a team.
- Teach your dog essential skills and behaviors
- Build a strong bond with your canine buddy
- Create a well-behaved and happy companion
Teaching your dog amongst a group of peers in a controlled environment, helps to socialize your dog which enables them to become more confident, well mannered, and comfortable in different settings.
Prerequisite: This class is for dogs 16-weeks and older that get along well with other dogs and people (friendly or disinterested; no barking or lunging at others) as we may do some off-leash work in this class. This is not a class meant for a reactive dog that lunges and barks at approaching people and dogs. If you think your dog may be reactive, please give us a call to discuss this before signing up for this class.
Class Duration: 5 Weeks (one class per week, one hour each)
Take your basic obedience to the next level!
Have you ever been disappointed when your dog failed to do something that you were sure he knew? Afterall, he sits perfectly in front of you every time you ask him to but when you ask him to do it across the room, he cocks his head with a blank look on his face.
Perhaps he stays beautifully when you stand in front of him but when you ask him to “stay” at the park from 20 feet away, not so much. Calling him out of a dog park? Forget about it!
You may have trained him very well in the close up situations, but now it’s time to branch out to distance related situations, for a longer period of time and amongst distractions!
Our Intermediate class will provide you the tools to train your dog to do his basics in distracting situations, at a distance and for longer periods of time. We will also learn a few more advanced cues such as emergency stopping, Recalling from a distance, Staying from afar and will begin fading of lure and hand gestures.
Prerequisite: This class is for dogs 16-weeks and older that get along well with other dogs and people (friendly or disinterested; no barking or lunging at others) as we may do some off-leash work in this class. Successful completion of Basic Obedience and Manners or similar entry level obedience class.
